My name is Tom DeBruyckere and I am the author of "Reminiscing in the Bear Den"

A book of experiences in my life that are particularly memorable to me.  

I love nature, traveling, sports, classic rock music, adventure, hunting, and people watching.  I am not a fan of crowds, but I love small parties or happy hours with friends and family.  Stimulating intellectual debates about history, politics, sports and life with logical and open minded people (I'm not interested in unoriginal political talking points).  I love manual labor and intellectual problem solving.  My life with my wife.

 I grew up on a farm in SW Minnesota in the 1960's and 1970's.  I went to college in Bemidji MN and then after college I joined the active Army and moved to Northern Virginia.  I left the Army after 3 years and stayed around the Washington DC area until 1991 when I moved to Austin Texas.  I worked for Dell Computers from 1991 until 2001.  Quit in 2001 and traveled the US and the world for 2 years with my wife and then moved to Minnesota in 2003.  After living in Minnesota for 7 years we moved to Oregon in 2010 where we currently live.
